We have has a brilliant week with Mrs Johnston. We read the book The Green Line and used it as a stimulus for our own walk. We took our own green line out and about in the school grounds. Each walk was very different and the children led the walk! We painted flowers, drew green lines and painted green patterns on the playground.
Thank you for coming to the Arts celebration too, and we hope you enjoyed the green line walk too! If you were unable to come, please feel free to come into Nursery to see the children’s work.
On Wednesday all the children took part in sports day, those who stay all day even took part twice! The children did a short replay race, a beanbag relay, a race balancing a quoit on their head and finally a full lap around the track. Then it was the parents turn who took part in the bean bag relay. A big thank you to all the parents who came and a huge well done to all the children. We have some very fast runners even at this young age, very promising for the future!
We had a visit from the ‘ Pet as Therapy’ charity and we really enjoyed hearing about how Molly, a golden retriever helps people feel better. We all had a turn to stroke her soft fur.
Today we had a Very Hungry Caterpillar story cafe in Nursery. Mums, Dads and Grandmas came to Nursery and listened to the story with their children then took part in lots of hungry caterpillar activities together. We painted butterflies, made caterpillars out of tissue paper, play dough or duplo, played bingo and tasted the different fruits from the story. Everyone had lots of fun. A big thank you to everyone who came along!
We were very surprised when we arrived at school yesterday to find that we had not one but three chicks hatched. They have surprised us by making an early appearance! The children were very excited to sit around the run and watch the chicks eating their food and keeping warm under the heat lamp. We can’t wait for the rest to hatch now!
