Today we had a visit from four fantastic birds! We all got a chance to hold them and watch them fly! Some of them even got chance to feed them and catch them when they flew to us.
THANK YOU SO MUCH YORK BIRD OF PREY CENTRE!!!!
This week I set up a frogs life cycle investigation area. We all talked about how frogs spawn turns from circular shaped jelly eggs into frogs. At the moment the frogspawn hasn’t began to develop, hopefully it will soon!
We chose pictures and compared these to our frogspawn.
Watch this space for photos as the tadpoles hatch and grow!
Nursery explored some different Fair Trade products to create some fantastic art work. We made a mess but had loads of fun!!
Today the Nursery and Reception had great fun at our Pancake Cafe. We made the pancake batter in groups, then they wrote their name on a waiting list where they received a token to pay for their pancake. I had lots of fun making and tossing the pancakes.
This week we are looking at the Gingerbread Man story.
Rosina made a Gingerbread man from our ginger scented play dough.
“I’m putting it in the oven”
“my gingerbread man has a baby in his tummy”
Layth made this Gingerbread Man without a cutter!! Well done!!
We all brought along our favourite teddy bears and had a fantastic picnic.
We made jam sandwiches… Everyone knows that jam sandwiches are teddy bears favourite!
Melissa really enjoyed the picnic role play…
Liaam painted a picture of a bear.
Miss Priden came to to show Nursery her 16 weeks old baby boy Sam. We talked about what he likes to eat, how he communicates and what babies need to be happy.
Nursery enjoyed it very much, THANK YOU MISS PRIDEN!
We also looked at a scan picture of Mr Lupton’s future niece of nephew to see what babies look like in their mummies tummy.
The nursery children have loved playing this Maths app. It’s free and would highly recommend it if you have an iPad at home. It explores many areas of maths and has clear instructions so they can play with little help.
We have had a great time so far this week exploring different maths activities! Take a look at some of the great things we have done….
We have sang lots of songs which have numbers in them, we love ‘5 currant buns’ and we all got involved.
Massive THANK YOU to the Friend of Allerton for organising the balloon race. Nursery loved it and talked about it lots afterwards!
