We had another great trip to Temple Newsam Farm today. We saw lots of animals including goats, pigs, cows and ducks. The children particularly enjoyed looking at the baby pigs! Nursery then had a lovely time playing in the playground and having a picnic. A big thank you to all the parents that joined us today!
A big thanks you to all the parents that joined us today! Nursery had a great time on their school trip to Temple Newsam Farm. We started the day by looking at all the different farm animals and then enjoyed a little play in the playground. We then had a lovely picnic under a tree to shade us from the glorious sun, followed by games on the field.
Nursery had their assembly this morning and what a success it was! The children sat beautifully throughout the whole assembly and sang each transport song very well. Each child took part in our train dance and some very brave children stood up and said a few lines to the whole school and parents. The children have really enjoyed our transport topic this half term and the assembly showed this well. I am so proud of all the children’s achievements this year and the assembly was a great way to celebrate. Well Done Nursery!
This week we have been thinking all about trains. We have read the story ‘Magic Train Ride’. We went on our own magic train ride in the outdoor area, going to different destinations and talking about what we could see. In the Mark Making area we have been drawing pictures of the different destinations including the park, Disneyland, Morocco and the farm.
We have got some lovely new bikes in foundation stage. We have been balancing on the bikes and taking big ‘dinosaur’ strides up and down the playground. When the children can balance confidently they have been challenged to take a few strides and glide. We will continue to practise this throughout the summer term.
We have had lots of fun today taking part in salsa dancing with Miss Johnson! We learnt a simple routine that children picked up well and then we danced with partners using the different moves we had learnt. The children then wanted to make some music like the song we had been listening to so we explored making music with a range of instruments.
