At the beginning of the week in Nursery, we were thinking about keeping safe in the sun. During our daily weather song, we have thought about how the weather impacts us and what we need to wear or use, for example when it is raining or sunny.
This week we read our How to Keep Safe in the Sun text map, using actions to recall words and phrases. The children were aware that pictures have meaning and were learning how to track the text from left to right. When going outdoors we ensured that we followed our instructions, wearing sun hats, drinking lots of water and applying suncream.
Once outside we has lots of fun finding ways to keep cool, we splashed water, paddled and made bubbles using bubble mixture and the bubble wands.

Later in the week, the weather changed quite dramatically and we were able to explore a different kind of weather, rain, and lots of it. As we played outdoors in the rain, this time wearing our raincoats, we listened to the sounds of the raindrops splashing into different containers, sang rainy days songs and explored colour mixing whilst puddle painting. Some of us were even able to write our names in the puddles! Well done everyone!
