In our first few weeks of term, we have been very busy welcoming back our returning children and welcoming new friends as we settle into our new year and new nursery group! We have had lots of fun exploring both our indoor and outdoor provision; playing alongside and together as we develop our own interests and try out new things!
Some of us were very happy to be reunited with our familiar friends from last year. We were very excited to see one another again and quickly got stuck into lots of play experiences together.

We welcomed new friends into our Nursery group and together we became familiar with our key routines. This included our Monday morning playdough-making session, snack time in our key groups and sitting to enjoy lunch together. We were also very helpful in joining in with our animal care routines, helping to feed our chicken and checking if she had laid any eggs!

We have particularly enjoyed exploring our outdoor space together, where we had lots of fun climbing and crawling, making sandcastles and mud pies, as well as spending time in our Book Nook sharing stories.

We showed fantastic creativity as we experimented and explored in our indoor provision too. We painted bright, beautiful works of art and arranged coloured tiles and strips of paper to create representations. We thought imaginatively about how we could use resources to create our own small-world town and experimented with making sounds and rhythms with instruments as we made music collaboratively!

We have had an incredibly busy and fun-filled start to our year at Nursery! It has been wonderful to welcome back our returners and we are so proud of how our new starters have settled into our group. We wonder what we will get busy doing next…
