The prolonged burst of cold weather last week enabled us to have fun creating some beautiful ice decorations. As we explored we learnt about freezing and melting.
After being stuck inside for most of this week due to the ice, today we enjoyed some fresh air with an outdoor storytime followed by some warm milk for snack.
Today we enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner with all of the trimmings. Thank you to our kitchen staff for preparing this feast for us to share together.
We are very proud of all of the children this week following their fabulous singing and dancing during our sing a long performances. Thank you to all the families who were able to attend.

This week we have been learning all about the number 2 and how it can be represented in different ways.
This week we have really felt the cold and in Nursery, we have spent lots of time talking about what we need to wear in the cold weather to keep warm. The children were eager to explore the ice set up in the mud kitchen this week, making comments on how it felt, what it looked like and where it came from.
Today Nursery joined the Reception classes and Mrs Scott in the hall to lay our poppy for Remembrance Day. The children then had a go at making loose part poppies as we talked about why we celebrate Remembrance Day.
This week the children have been very excited by Bonfire Night and fireworks. This has led to lots of fun opportunities to explore this further. We have learnt about sound and colour, developed our physical, listening and creative skills.
